Think your boatyard uses the right stuff??

Not Always.  Sometimes, they use things that get very expensive later.
This job was by Old West Marine Services in Page, Arizona.

Let the buyer beware!

Our top-deck carpet looked great when first installed. A couple of years later, it was time to replace it with new. The glue they used had "welded" the carpet to the rubber roof membrane, and the old carpet would not come off. We spent four days trying to find a way to remove it.

We finally found that by saturating the old carpet with paint stripper, we could get the whole mess to dissolve into a goo that we could (slowly and expensively) get up.

It took $3000 in labor and more than $1000 worth
of stripper just to get the old carpet off the boat.
